Crafting A Special Breed Of Tequila.
Emerald Spear Tequila is handcrafted in Jalisco, Mexico from the highland region’s finest Blue Weber Agave using traditional methods. The result is a remarkably smooth tequila with subtle notes of citrus, earth, and cooked agave.
Only the highest quality Blue Weber Agave plants from the highlands of Jalisco are harvested for Emerald Spear. After growing for six to eight years in red, iron-rich soil, the agave is ripe and ready for harvest. Skilled jimadores use a traditional tool called a coa to trim the agave of its long spiky leaves and dislodge a 70-pound piña at its core.
Each Emerald Spear piña is transported from the field to be slow cooked in 20-ton masonry ovens. Slow cooking the piña for 48 to 50 hours ensures that it is evenly cooked, an essential step for properly initiating the conversion of its sugars for fermentation. This time-intensive process also softens the piña to facilitate the proper extraction of its sugars.
The Emerald Spear extraction process works in tandem. First, the cooked agaves are pressed, and the agave honey is separated from the pulpy fibrous material. The pulp is used for composting future generations of Emerald Spear agave while the honey is poured into a stainless-steel cistern where it will patiently wait its turn for fermentation.
During open-air fermentation, the sugar of the Emerald Spear agave honey is transformed into alcohol. Precise amounts of yeast and nutrients are used for this process – but that’s not all. During this time, we play classical Baroque music to create a unique rhythm for our open-air fermentation to work its magic. Depending on the weather, this transformation can take up to 200 hours, all the while spreading aromas of Emerald Spear to later be enjoyed in the glass.
Once the fermentation and classical music have worked together to convert agave honey into alcohol, a double distillation process is implemented. In the first step, the fermented product is distilled in copper stills to produce a first distillate called the ordinario, which is separated from any unusable alcohols. In the second step, the ordinario is distilled once more to obtain tequila in its purest expression – Emerald Spear Tequila Blanco.
Our tequila is then filtered, inspected, and tasted by masters with five generations of tequila-making experience. All this to ensure the remarkably smooth character and subtle notes of Emerald Spear Tequila Blanco. The tequila is then poured into the unique Emerald Spear bottle, where it will patiently wait to be enjoyed by those with a spirit of adventure.

Embarking On A New Mission.
One evening, while reminiscing about adventures over tequila, an idea was born between four close teammates and friends.
Our goal: create something to reflect our shared experiences, our love for country, and our unwavering bond.
We collectively realized that tequila, with its rich history and connection to our coastal roots, represented the perfect embodiment of our friendship and the spirit of the Brotherhood.
Driven by our entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to build something new, we embarked on a journey to the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.
We met with local distillers, captivated by the meticulous process and dedication required to create exceptional tequila. Our idea then became a reality.
Inspired by our love for the ocean and unwavering work ethic, we named our tequila Emerald Spear.
'Emerald' pays homage to Coronado Island, nicknamed the "Emerald City" and home to west coast elite training grounds. 'Spear' reflects the iconic three-pronged trident that symbolizes our shared values of unity, strength, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Today, Emerald Spear Tequila celebrates the spirit of adventure. Our mission, however, continues - to share a taste of our journey and the values that unite us.
